Supernovae Remnant

A supernova remnant is the expanding aftermath left behind by a supernova explosion. Material ejected at enormous velocities collides with the surrounding interstellar gas, producing shock waves, filaments and complex structures that can glow at many wavelengths. Unlike the supernova itself, which is a transient event, its remnant can remain observable for thousands or tens of thousands of years, gradually expanding and merging with the interstellar medium.
